Gis and Remote Sensing expert, IT specialist

Doctor of Science in Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing, I have over twenty years of experience in the IT sector and some recent experiences in teaching at the University IUAV of Venice.

In recent years I have worked as a consultant for CSI Piemonte, dealing with various projects for the Piedmont Region on public transport, roads registry, road accident records, agricultural registry and quality food products. I have also collaborated on the European project Opticities on sustainable urban mobility.

Together with a group of volunteers and the staff of the organization, I collaborated with the municipality of Alessandria to the Open Data project and to a training initiative, a school on Open Data.

The in-depth knowledge of database and data management systems are my basic tools to conduct activities of analysis of the territory, the complexity of which is described as a collection of social, economic and environmental data.

My areas of expertise are:

• analysis, organization, transformation, integration and visualization of spatial data, integrating the use of GIS tools with database technologies, giving particular emphasis to the design phase of the data schema model;
• theoretical and practical training on cartography, GIS and remote sensing, use of the most popular GIS software, training on the ECDL GIS certification program;

• management of Geographic Information Systems, definition of the business objectives, processes, methodologies and resources; coordination with the IT functions for the management of services and technologies; relationship with the enterprise governance of the organization (public authority/agency/company) for the definition of a shared vision (according to the framework COBIT 5);

• support to the Business analysis, Demand management and Portfolio management processes; relations with external/internal stakeholders, collection of their needs and requirements analysis; support to the design of the service management (according to good practices described in ITIL).
